Solar Stage

The Solar Stage™ is a flexible design, open air, building system that allows for rapid onsite assembly of attractive structures to act as the stage for PV arrays & solar hot water collectors. Available as a flat, shed or gable roofed structure, the Solar Stage™ may be freestanding or attached to existing structures. The Solar Stage™ is delivered to the jobsite as a pre-fabricated system of components, knocked down ready for fast assembly at the site. The solar collectors are supplied by others.

Rationale for the Solar Stage

With existing residential, commercial and institutional structures, the area that can be allocated to installing solar collectors is limited. With a freestanding structure or the amendment of an attached structure, the possibilities are greatly expanded. When this is taken into consideration along with the idea that the new structures can also act as additional usable space, the proposition becomes more attractive. The benefits of the Solar Stage can be further advanced when it is used adjacent to east, west or south facing windows, significant passive solar cooling benefits may be realized. The benefits continue when you leverage the design capabilities of FineHouse and have a Solar Stage uniquely pre-crafted to fit your site with both form and function in mind. And finally, consider the reduced costs and construction time with a quality assured prefabricated structure delivered to your site, ready for solar collectors and the associated mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment anticipated.

The applications for the Solar Stage are numerous. The concept of a prefabricated structure, freestanding or attached
that can host a solar array offer a range of solutions, here are a few:

Loggias close to existing structures = Passive Cooling

Freestanding Outbuildings = Imaginative Possibilities

Picnic Shelters = Night lighting, security lighting

Bus Stop Shelters = Night lighting & Emergency Phone

Parking Structures = Carbon credits, Night lighting

Outdoor Rooms = Facilitating siting of arrays
